The lake

The lake today.

The lake has two winds and they keep hours. The tivano comes down from the north before the day starts, the breva comes up from the south and fills through the afternoon. Everything below is read from a public forecast model and then named, because a number without a name is a weather widget, and this is meant to be the thing a member checks before deciding whether to take the boat out.

Right now · Colico

The lake is flat off Colico. Nothing worth calling a wind.

Forecast from Open-Meteo, read at ten points down the lake by a job every fifteen minutes, not an observation off the water. Wind naming is a rule of thumb over direction and hour: the lake does not always do what the model says, and the named winds bend around the shore, so read it as a strong hint rather than a reading off the water. Model run read at 15:15, lake time.
