About
Who writes this, and on what basis.
Como Private is a club, not a portal. This page sets out who we are, how the collective is built and the standards behind everything published on this site.

01Editorial policy
We write from the ground, not from other websites
The reference material here is written from time spent on this lake and from the people who work on it: which shore holds the light, where a boat can actually tie up, what a village is like in February. Where we are drawing on somebody else's experience, we say so.
Volatile facts are marked, not guessed
Prices, tax rates, journey times, opening hours and accolades move. Our content model holds every one of them as a typed fact with a status, and a fact nobody has checked against a named source is simply not published. You will find gaps here rather than plausible numbers.
We do not name businesses we cannot vouch for
You will not find restaurant round-ups or supplier directories here. The people we use are introduced privately, to members, for a specific job. That is the only form in which a recommendation is worth anything.
Nobody pays to appear
There is no advertising on this site, no sponsored placement in the network and no commission taken for an introduction. A firm is on the list because it has done good work and comes off when the work slips.
Editorial is not advice
Pages covering tax, law, residency and cost carry a notice saying so. They are written to make you a better-informed client of a professional, not to replace one.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will change it and date the change. Every substantial page carries a published date and an updated date so you can see how current it is.
02The desks
Each page says which desk wrote it, which one checked it, when it was published and when it was last brought up to date. Named author profiles follow once the people behind them have written their own biographies.
