The Como Journal

Culture

What holds people here, and what changes when they stop visiting.

There is a difference between visiting a place and understanding it, and on this lake the transition is unusually visible: people arrive as tourists, come back, and at some point begin behaving like residents: different hours, different months, different villages, and a handful of relationships with people who live here.

The writing filed under Culture is about that shift and about the reasons behind it. It is the least practical part of the Journal and the part most likely to explain why Como Private exists at all.
